            Also, with all the police and prison system bullshit going on, the ridiculous legal system, and the deeply flawed politics, with one of the worst humans I know at the very top, there are many other countries that are much worse

          Examples include North Korea, China, Saudi Arabia, Russia, and many more. Of course that’s irrelevant and does not justify any of the crap going on in the US, but they deserve at least as much criticism

        In the same way, there are lots of things wrong here in Germany: the rise of the Nazis (who were never really gone), lack of human rights for some minorities, the racism, gender inequality, the stupid pitching of environmental vs economic issues, the continuing attack on privacy.

      Plus of course the fact that preaching to your Twitter echo chamber choir is most likely one of the least effective things you can do. So I keep it to a minimum and try to focus on local politics, where I feel there’s at least some chance of an actual effect
